"Creativity is the ability to see that which is waiting to exist" – author unknown

I was born in New Britain, Connecticut. Growing up, I was influenced by my grandmother who painted china, and woodburned plaques, and by my great uncle who was a portrait painter and landscape artist.

I obtained my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Hartford Art School of the University of Hartford. While in college, I taught children’s art classes at the New Britain Art League. I later studied watercolor at the Connecticut Academy of Fine Art in Wethersfield. I continue to take workshops and classes to further enhance my artistic skills.

My favorite subjects and mediums are portraits in oil, and landscapes in watercolor. I also do figure drawings and portraits in charcoal and limited pastels, and have recently experimented with bas-relief terra cotta figures.

My inspiration with portraits comes from observing the subtleties that distinguish that particular person from all others: the glint in the eyes, the tilt of the head, the laughter lines. With my watercolor landscapes, I choose subjects that stimulate me to capture them forever as living memories to where I have been and my desire to share those feelings with people viewing my paintings. I enjoy developing my artistic skill with various watercolor papers, and styles of painting.

I am a juried member of the Connecticut Watercolor Society, an associate member of the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, and current President of Windsor Palette and Brush Club.
